This article has been created to help future paramedics. For some people, paramedics are only a taxi to the hospital. However, there are a lot of things going on behind the scene. This article will explain how it is to be a paramedic and the realities of the job. When I first thought about being a paramedic, I couldn't really find any information about the job. This is why I made this article and because I want some marks in my English course.


What is it like to be paramedic?

Being a paramedic is a wonderful opportunity. Paramedics are saving lives as well as making a difference in people's lives. There is nothing more wonderful than making a difference in today's world.


What do paramedics do?

Paramedics is often considered to be a bridge between the outside and the hospital. Paramedics are answering emergency calls and are responsible for maintaining vital signs of the patient.


What do paramedics do on a typical day?

On a typical day, paramedics are to inspect the ambulance and its equipment. After the inspection done, they are given a 10-12 (waiting point). During the shift, paramedics are to answer the emergency calls that are given to them and bring the patient to the hospital.


Where do paramedics work?

Paramedics are assigned to waiting points all around the cities in Quebec.


How can I become paramedic?

In order to become a paramedic, you have to successfully complete a 3 years DEC in a Prehospital Emergency Care technique.


How much money do paramedics make?

The salary of a primary care paramedic is $25,5/hrs to $35.5/hrs.


What kinds of additional training do paramedics need?

Paramedics are constantly trained to new procedures and techniques during their career.


What are the dangers of being paramedic?

There may be a lot of dangers while working as a paramedic. Paramedics are working with very unstable people, and they often face mental issues. Paramedics are also required to use a lot of forces and faced to traumatic experiences.


What are the chances that paramedics will be replaced by robots soon?

This is unlikely going to happen since being a paramedic is a human job due to the variability of our interventions.


What age do paramedics retire at?

Paramedics retires after around 5 years of career.


Conclusion

At this moment, I am still studying in order to officially become a paramedic. This is my second year out of three in the program. After being a paramedic I might specialize in another branch like the community para medicine or the tactical group.
