By the end of the day, the teacher will say goodbye to the kids and pack their things back together and get ready to go home.
A teacher can work at different places. They can work in a primary school, high school, in college and in university, and they can decide to work in a private school for all of these places. They can all bring different advantages and disadvantages depending on a lot of things. For example, someone could prefer working with young or old students, they could prefer finishing early, so they might not like working at a college or a university, they could even prefer working in the summer to get a little bonus, so the primary school or high school would not be the perfect match.
Nowadays, you could become a teacher without any specific studies because we're missing so much of them. Usually, to become a teacher you have to finish your high school. After, you have to complete a DEC in probably anything. Then, you have to go in university and complete a BAC to become the typical teacher. If you want, you could always continue and specialize in a more specific field like history or accomplish a master's degree in teaching to be able to teach in college. Finally, teaching in university takes a little bit longer. You need to accomplish all of the studies above and a doctorate in Teaching.

The age of retirement, here in Quebec, really depends of the people or on what salary they make along there life. The cost of life has extremely increased in the past few years. The majority of the population therefore retires later on in their life. Though, they could retire just because they like what they're doing and wouldn't trade it for anything else. The retirement age for teachers' turns around the mid 60s. After my retirement, I would be scared to find myself alone in my living room doing nothing. I don't want to end my life by staying all my day in y house. I would much rather continue my job until I can't do it anymore. I would maybe even find a little job in a school where I could still get contact with the students.
Right now, I'm starting a new program in Cegep because I didn't like what I was doing my first and second year. I'm also changing schools because Ahuntsic College is a little bit far from my house. The program that I chose is Social Science at Montmorency College. After that, I will go and do a bachelor in teaching, and I will specialize to be a physical education teacher. Although I'm not really sure yet, and I don't know either in which type of school I will go.
