A teacher, wakes up early in the morning to go to school. They prepare their class, and they welcome their students in. They teach them some specific things each day, and they make them study for some exams and do some homework, so they stay active during classes.


What do teachers do on a typical day?

Before school, a teacher has to create a plan for their teaching. That will help them be organized. Their day starts with their students and ends with their students. Depending on what educational level they are teaching, their day is different. For a Primary School teacher, they have the same kids all day, but they teach different subjects. For a Secondary School teacher, they have different students all day because they only teach one subject.


Where do teachers work?

Teachers work mostly at school with their students. They have some work to finish at home, but 99% of their work is made at school.


How can I become teacher?

A college degree is required in this profession. You can receive your bachelor’s degree in elementary or secondary education in five years. Prospective teachers take 24 to 36 credits in an area of specialization and 18 to 24 credits in teaching courses. They spend the fifth year student teaching. Postgraduates can become teachers by returning to school for a master’s degree in teaching

In conclusion, becoming a teacher is my dream! I am now in my third semester in College Montmorency, in my Social Sciences Program. I only have few years left to be able to see my dream come true.
