I think the chances are really low because this field requires a lot of expertise and some human touch by the technologist. Their role in the patient care and precision of their work is irreplaceable. Also, it may look like robots are more precise than humans, but in fact they are not. They make a lot of mistakes because they are too perfect, they don't accept a margin of error.
They can retire at 65 years old, but if they are willing to work more, they can retire at 70.
