If you are interested in starting a carrier in psychology you should read the rest of this article. It will help you to learn every detail that you need to know before getting into this carrier. It talks about the environment that psychologist have to face, their salary, their everyday tasks, what their everyday looks like etc. I am writing this article because I am studying in this field and I believe that there is a lot of information we should know before becoming a psychologist. I did a research and here is some interesting information that might be useful.
Being a psychologist is a lot of emotional pressure, because at some point by listening to the problems of other people you get tired emotionally at the same time you become a very responsible person by keeping other people information confidential. It is also very satisfying. That is the case because you help out many people in this field.
Psychologists try to comprehend the different reactions of people on many topics. Perhaps, understanding the thinking and the behavior of the human brain. There are different types of workers in this field. Such as researchers, teachers, service providers, administrators, and counselors.
Like I was saying previously there are different types of psychologists. They all have different types of tasks and different types off schedule during the day. In our case, we will take example from a private psychologist who works in a private clinic. They usually have a flexible timing, but once they are at work their agenda is usually full. They see their patients and study them well, so they can understand the treatment needed for each patient. They firstly talk to their patient, then they write reports and in the end the apply measures that they have to in order to solve the issue of their patient.
The environment where psychologists work depend on the type of work they do. Private psychologists work in clinics, the researchers works in universities or in some kind of organisations and there are some who works in hospitals and schools.
In order to become a psychologist you can start by applying at Montmorency College in Social Science a 2 years program after finishing college you have to plan long years in school. The first step will be to go to university and get a bachelor degree and then go to a graduate school to obtain a master's degree. There are two types of degrees that you could get. The master of science or a master of arts. Either way the student should take courses in which he should attend a research methods class and a statistics class. Beside his classes the student will have to complete a project and finally defend his project in front of professionals. This will lead to a master's degree that could be a way to pursue studies further.
Psychologists can earn from $67,353 to $129,929 per year. The average amount that most of the psychologist make is around $97,451 per year.
Psychologists need additional training on the way to interact with people that are feeling different types of emotion. You can never be trained enough. Everyone has different ways to express their emotions and a psychologist has to stay calm while the other person is reacting. Basically, what I am saying is that psychologist have to be trained on how they should react in many situations.
Being a psychologist isn't really dangerous, but I'll say there are sure some risks. Psychologists can be affected emotionally. Listening to the sad stories of others during the whole day their own mental health is at risk too.
There aren't big chances that psychologist could be replaced by robots, because it's a carrier that asks a lot of emotions and understanding. Robots won't be able to that for sure.
At the end of his carrier a psychologist will have a great feeling of accomplishment due to all the people he helped in his carrier. By help I also men saved their lives in some situations. If someone had a big impact like that in life, I don't think that he would feel any kind of regrets. Besides, a psychologist will probably have a secure retirement because of the high salary he gained in his job.
Currently, I am in my second semester in Social Science, I have another year to go. After getting my college degree, I have a plan to go to university and get my bachelors degree and then my masters. I am ready to invest a long time into my studies. I am planing to to become a private psychologist who will work in a private clinic hopefully.
