From my experience, being an Intervention Worker is very fun. You get to work with people who value what you do for them. You get to learn new things every day. You get to help others. And with all of that you get to make your own agenda.

We supervise the client's activities to ensure the safety of every one. We also attend meetings with new clients and our caseload. Finally, we act as a liaison with other health and social services for the client care.

To become an intervention worker you need a College diploma in a relevant field or three (3) years of relevant work experience. For exemple : Youth and Adult Correctional Intervention, Social Work, Social Science.


How much money do intervention workers make?

Intervention workers make about $45,094 annual. It is about $23 the hour.


What kinds of additional training do intervention workers need?

Sometimes, jobs require some additional training such as a training in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and a Class 5 drivers licence.


What are the dangers of being intervention worker?

There are many dangers of being an intervention worker, such as mental health issues (anxiety, depression burn-out). There is also a chance of getting hurt by violence in the workplace. It is also easy do get the flu witch can become dangerous. Finally, it is possible to get blood-borne diseases.


What are the chances that intervention workers will be replaced by robots soon?

I don't think it is possible that intervention workers will be replaced by robots soon, because to be a good intervention worker you need to be able to have empathy in regard of the clients, but robots can't.


What age do intervention workers retire at?

You can retire after 50 years of work or at 65 years old.


Conclusion

Finally, I am already working as an intervention worker in a homeless's shelter. I have been working there for almost 2 years now, and I would like to keep doing my job after I finish school this summer.
