Police officers can work in diverse environment. Where they work depends on if they patrol, are in an investigation, ect. They can be outside, in an office or in their vehicles.
It depends on what you want to do. If you want to be a police officer in the GRC, you have to past their tests and go to their school for 26 weeks and after that, you have your dream job.But, if you want to work in the SQ, SPVM, you have to go for 3 years in a cegep that can train you to become a policeman. After that, you have to go at ENPQ for 15 weeks. At ENPQ, they prepare you to intervene adequately and effectively.

They have to train a lot physically because their job is in the action. For example, tomorrow they might be chasing after someone ,so they have to be ready and in shape. In addition, the laws change a lot, so they must know the news. Police officers must also have a weapons training.
You can face to a violent attack. It is really hard physically, mentally, and you can be exposed to certain diseases from human and animal contact. If you are a police officer, you are putting your life in real danger because suspect can shoot and punch you.
The chances are not really big because they have the judgment that probably a robot can't have. They have to interact with people and have trust relationship with them. Probably, that a robot can't act as fast if a crime happens. But, for ticket speeding theirs is already cameras that can give tickets by the mail if someone goes too fast in a car.

Consequently, being a Police Officer require a lot of courage, you have to like challenges and be in shape physically to face each day of your work life.
