A pharmacist checks the prescriptions for proper dosage and makes sure the dosage is appropriate for the client’s condition. The pharmacist also checks that the medication prescribed does not interfere with his other medications. The pharmacist makes recommendations to doctors about the client’s prescription if needed. In addition, the pharmacist answers questions on the phone. The pharmacist recommends over-the-counter medications for mild health issues like cold, seasonal allergies, fever, headache, and more.
Pharmacists are employed in pharmaceutical companies, government departments and local pharmacy. In hospitals, pharmacists have a more clinical approach.
To become a pharmacist, you must succeed in the Science program. In this CEGEP program, you learn the basis of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology. These science-related subjects help you develop a scientific mind. After graduating from college, you can apply to the University of Laval or to the University of Montreal in Pharmacy. A bachelor of science degree in pharmacy is required. Finally, a licence is required to practice pharmacy.

To conclude, I have been studying Science for 3 semesters at Montmorency College. After graduating from college, my intention is to obtain a professional doctorate in Pharmacy.
