There's a lot of physical training. You have to be strong physicaly and have great lungs.


What are the dangers of being a fireman?

They're in danger of inhaling toxic fumes and physically injuring themselves. They also are confronted with other dangers such as viruses, bacteria, molds, or even noise, extreme temperatures, and pressures.


What are the chances that firemen will be replaced by robots soon?

The chances are very high, because there's already fire sprinklers that are programmed to extinguish fires when they detect smoke. A few years from now there will probably be more advanced technologies and the help of firemen will be less and less needed.

The average retirement age for firefighters is 60 although they are eligible for early retirement after 25 years of service or from the age of 50.

To become a fireman, you have to be ready to take physical risk. To be prepare to do that, you have to pass the physical and writting test. The salary for this job is very good, so you should be able to retire at 60 years old with no problem.
